First NASA HPDE Track Day

Our first year getting ready to race our project GTS in NASA turned out pretty good. During our track day we were assigned to group 1 because it was our first time. Our group would get 20 min on the Streets of Willow racetrack, with an in-car instructor, followed by about an hour of class room time discussing driving techniques. That process repeated for five sessions! It was a great time on a great track and by the end of the day we were moved up to group 2. With the new year there are a lot of new track days already scheduled and we plan to make it to as many as we can in order to move up to group 4. Once in group 4 we can apply for our NASA competition license. Cost of getting started in NASA: Attendance fee for HPDE track day at Streets of Willow ($140), one year membership ($45), Admin Fee ($3.98) Total = $188.98

First Year Total = $3045.19

Next up, our bone stock 96 GT felt a little underpowered and lacked grip so we’ll see if we can improve that before our next HPDE.
