This kit combines Ford Racing Performance Parts Block and Dowel kit with 11 heavy duty brass freeze plugs for everything needed to freshen up an aluminum Teksid engine block found in a 96-01 Mustang Cobra.

Includes: Water heater tube, Cylinder head dowels, transmission dowels, timing chain dowels, rear main seal plate dowels, engine block coolant drain plugs, oil gallery plugs, and heavy duty brass freeze plugs.

How To Remove and Install Freeze Plugs and Oil Gallery Plugs on a 4.6 Teksid Engine Block (07:03)

I like to remove all the freeze plugs, oil gallery plugs, and drain plugs prior to the block going to the machine shop. With all the plugs out the engine can be cleaned better in the hot tank. I prefer to use Dorman brass freeze plugs (PN 565-028) because they have a longer side wall and the brass resists corrosion. Please let me know if you have questions or comments below.
