These Stage 8 Locking Header Bolts are 30 mm long (25 mm length also available) and are designed for a 1996-2004 Mustang GT, Bullitt, Mach 1, & Cobra 4.6 V8 (SOHC or DOHC). These are a must when adding long or short tube style headers! Standard non-locking nuts and bolts are prone to backing off due to exposure to multiple heat cycles. Header bolts backing out can lead to header gaskets blowing out and causing a timely and expensive replacement. We have personally used and re-used Stage 8 locking header bolts for over 10 years on drag and road race cars and have never experience a single bolt backing out or a blown header gasket.

Due to the magnitude of manufactures and header designs all 16 Stage 8 bolts may not clear the header tubes. If for instance if only 14 of the 16 Stage 8 bolts will clear the headers, we recommend using the factory stud and nut or the header manufacturers fasteners in the remaining 2 positions.
